Today we're celebrating all those people who have stepped up and got their licence this year with us in Putaruru. So far that's 31 over the last six months - well done, we are so proud and stoked to see each one stepping up and gaining their licence. For a small community, we think this is pretty significant, and we know that there are many stories of the challenges that have been overcome. We are excited to be breaking down the barriers that stand in the way, and to be helping to make a pathway for people to be licenced and out driving on our roads.
Here's some of the feedback we have received (names changed for privacy);
"Just wanted to send a big THANK YOU for your help with Murray's pathway of getting his Learner’s Driver’s License back. After five years of driving without a license and having no idea how to get it back – he is over the moon! Thank you for stepping him through the process and for encouraging and building his confidence in using a computer!"
Simon, now has his Restricted after almost 17 years of driving with a Learners Licence. He already had two failed attempts at his restricted before coming to Transform Aotearoa. After his test, the tester said to him "That's the best drive I've ever had"
"I had my restricted licence for many years, I went through many driving schools but I still needed a bit more. It's [getting my full licence] been a goal for many years, and it feels GOOD to have my full licence!"
