On the 31st March, Transform Aotearoa opened up the doors of their newly renovated building which will be home to their suite of family restoration programmes. The building owners, (the Smith family), were present at the opening and Wayne Smith was the main guest speaker. “This is a really
great thing for Putaruru - it’s good for families, good for the town and good for the soul,” said Wayne, during his address.
Wayne noted that it was also good to be reunited with the infamous Putaruru rugby twins Lamen and Lehi Hohaia, Lamen being the lead community Liaison worker for the Transform Aotearoa Trust. Wayne noted, "I used to play rugby with these boys during my Putaruru College years, now its great to see them here in support of the community.”
Transform Aotearoa are now located at 32 Tirau Street, (above the Crazy Cow Café), and they offer Support Programmes for men and women, teens, driver licensing and testing, as well as dance camps and leadership programmes, budgeting and weekly te reo Maori classes.
